HTC 5-inch Smartphone with Full HD Resolution in the Works

HTC fans yearning for a smartphone that sports a larger screen and packs a Full HD resolution could be seeing the device of their dreams soon enough, as the manufacturer is reportedly working on 5-inch handset that is said to feature an impressive display Cell phone Antenna. With reports citing an unusual resolution of 1794 x 1080, HTC's next flagship handset will most likely feature a full 1920 x 1080 panel and is expected to launch in either September or October. Though it seems the device will omit 126 vertical lines for Android's onscreen navigation buttons that was introduced in version 4.0 of the operating system, codenamed Ice Cream Sandwich. A July GLBenchmark result that matches the resolution and states Android as the OS adds some backing to these claims, as well as the mention of Qualcomm's MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 SoC paired with Adreno 320 graphics that turned up on the GLB information sheet. Powered at a max speed of 1.5GHz, this processor could maintain HTC's reputation for leading the pack in the Android spec race, while providing a nice match to the incredibly high resolution that is being reported. A Growing Trend While HTC has not confirmed such rumors, these speculations may not be far off, as smartphone screens have been increasing in size for years, evident in Samsung's current flagship device, the Galaxy S III, which recently launched with a 4.8-inch display. Not to mention Sammy's Galaxy Note, which sports a 5.3-inch display, has sold by the million, proving that consumers are no longer deterred by a bigger device, as long as it packs a larger HTC Aria Cases display. Also jumping on the bandwagon, LG recently announced a matching 5-inch 1080p IPS LCD display. Though HTC traditionally updates its Android lineup twice-a-year, with the fall refresh usually being less impressive than the spring release, a 5-inch flagship equipped with Full HD resolution could upend that trend if reports of this autumn release hold true.
